Making powerful bolts (Dragon, Ruby and Diamond).
« on: February 27, 2012, 07:36:34 am »
Hey everyone, my name is Merchant and I'm posting this bolt-making guide to help out anyone who had the same troubles with it as me :)

FAST GUIDE:

To create Ruby bolts, use ruby bolt tips on Adamant bolts.
To create Diamond bolts, use diamond bolt tips on Adamant bolts.
To create Dragon bolts, use dragon bolt tips on Runite bolts.

DETAILED GUIDE:

Step 1, getting the gems.
First and foremost you need the gems, cutting uncut gems will give you amulets, so the only known way to get cut gemstones is to loot them from an NPC (usually noted) or buy them from other players.

Step 2, creating bolt tips.
Once you have the cut gemstones, you will need to use a chisel on them, this will then create bolt tips. (Ruby's make Ruby bolt tips, diamonds make Diamond bolt tips and Dragonstones make Dragon bolt tips).

Step 3, getting Adamant bolts.
If you are making diamond or ruby bolts, you will need  Adamant bolts, these can be bought at the 'Bow and Arrow Salesman', found at home bank.

Step 4, getting Runite bolts.
If you are making dragon bolts, you will first need Runite bolts, these cannot be bought at any shops and therefore can only be obtained by smithing (you will need 1 Rune bar for 10 Runite bolts).

Rune bars can either be mined and smelted at the skilling teleport, or bought at the advanced skilling shop.

By now your inventory should be filled with these items:

- Adamant bolts (if making Ruby or Diamond bolts)
- Runite bolts (if making Dragon bolts)
- Bolt tips of whatever kind of bolts you're creating.

Now to make them all you have to do is use the bolt tips of your choice on the normal metals that suit it and whallaaa, you're finished.

What the bolts are useful for:
- RUBY bolts are useful for bossing/PvM.
- DIAMOND bolts are useful for PvP/PvM.
- DRAGON bolts are the highest level bolts and are extra useful for PvM/PvP.

Thanks for the feedback guys, really helps me out XD

The reason I didn't make the IMG codes is because I figured 99% of the people already know where the shops are, and the IMG codes often get in the way of the writing and mess it about, but if you really think it'd be better with them, I'll add them in :D
