Spamming
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:47:11 pm »
I think the spamming is getting a bit out of control. I've seen so many thread where even the staff team themself (who should do it right) are spamming quite much.
I've been online for 3 hours and I've already noticed.
I've made up a little thread about spamming :

Less than 3 Word Posting

1 and 2 word posting is posting things such as "Lol", "Omg", "Rofl", "Woot", and so on. This is a very common form of spam around the forums and it's one of the main ones that are getting out of hand on DarkenedCombat! Your posts should have some thought put into them no matter what it is... If it's not important enough to have more than one or two words then it's not important enough to be posted.

Off-Topic Posting

Everyone has to remain on-topic at all times or at least include something in the post that is on-topic. There's not much else to say about this one because it's such an obvious rule but nobody seems to follow it so please start.

Posting in The Wrong Section

I've seen people posting threads and in the main post they state "I know this is the wrong section but-" and that just makes me facepalm and then hit the report button. There is no reason you should be posting in the wrong section since there is a section for almost everything and it's clearly labeled.

Chatting On Threads

There is no specific rule on how many posts between you and another forum user that classifies it as chatting but it's common sense that you shouldn't be having a full blown conversation with a person on a thread (We have the VM & PM feature on the forum for reasons such as this).
Things like ''hey is the server off'' and get replies like ''no'' and so on, is spamming!

Bumping Threads

You may only bump your thread if it hasn't been posted on within the last 24 hours. If you bump your thread before the 24 hour period is up then it will be considered spamming. Please don't just post "Bump", make it an informative bump such as "Hey, I added/edited something, check it out!" or something along those lines. If you choose to just post "Bump" you may be infracted or post deletion may occur. Also you may only bump YOUR thread.

Feel free to discuss with me about this.

Thank you so much for making this topic! I too have been noticing and even mentioning the spam around the forums but never thought to make a topic about it (especially one this fantastic!) so congratulations!

And I'm going to straight up agree with you saying the spam is coming from the staff themselves and I'm even going to go out and say a MAJORITY of the spam is from them!

Something needs to be done, all I can do at the moment is report the posts, but I'm hoping someone that actually realises the current spam problem (you) will get forum moderator and does something about it!

Yeah you'd better follow that because if I was a moderator your warning system would be already at 60, you spam too much
